Wohnen weiterbauen
Großwohnsiedlungen in die Zukunft bringen
€59.00
Large post-war housing estates make up a considerable part of Europe's housing stock, and the way they are handled is dominated by demolition or minimal energy-efficiency refurbishment. Wohnen weiterbauen puts forward proposals for developing this stock for the future in a socially responsible and ecologically sound way. Using the example of Munich-Neuperlach, it examines the idea of a “bewohnbare Dämmung” (habitable insulation), in which façades are renewed by means of timber-built winter gardens. In serial multi-storey housing these lower energy costs, extend the living space and make flats flexibly usable. Densification is employed here to make the additional ecological and social effort economically affordable as well: a win-win-win strategy for the (large) housing estates of the future.
